Bum Knee / Physical Therapy

No Comments Feels

So, I saw a specialist regarding my bum knee recently…

Apparently, they have recommended physical therapy to strengthen the tendon above my knee, and if that works, I can hopefully avoid surgery… How fun, eh?

The shit part, is that they are telling me I have to restrict what I do at the gym in the meantime, so as to not conflict with my therapy, or even worse, make my knee situation any worse…

So, I’m sticking to the stationary bike and the elliptical trainer, and keeping my leg-based workouts to 30-45 minutes, every other day, and not on days when I’m doing physical therapy…

Other than that, I’ve been using the MyFitnessPal app (iOS and Android) and website (www.myfitnesspal.com) to track my nutritional intake / goals, under the supervision of my girlfriend (a dietitian), and my doctor…

I made it a goal of mine to NOT weight myself every day… I am currently only weighing myself at my monthly check-ins with my doctor… I don’t want to obsess over the details so much, seeing as I tend to be a bit OCD and extreme, and I figure the best way to succeed, as well to assess myself during a long-term goal, is to check my weight in monthly on the same scale, at the same time of day, in a controlled situation with my doctor… This way, I can be sure that I’m seeing a trend, rather than the minutia of every-day body weight fluctuations, as well as using clinical and controlled hardware to make an accurate assessment of my weight…

Every day is a battle, but I’ve already started to see improvements… More to come soon… I figure I’ll add some recipes and other assorted info to the site soon… As always, life tends to get in the way of the more overzealous ventures, but I’ll do my best…

Here’s going out to all of you guys and gals out there in TV Land… You are not alone in your quest to get your shit together…

You can do it.

Losing Weight
